Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) hat immer großen Wert auf die „Familie“ um seine Frau Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), ihren gemeinsamen Sohn Sohn Brian, seiner Schwester Mia (Jordana Brewster) und seine Mitstreiter Roman (Tyrese Gibson) und Tej (Ludacris) gelegt. Doms und Mias verschollener Bruder Jakob (John Cena), ein tödlicher Killer und Dieb, will mit Dom eine Rechnung begleichen und tut sich dafür mit der Cyber-Terroristin Cipher (Charlize Theron) zusammen. Dom steht vor seiner wohl größten Herausforderung.
